IP (Ingress Protection) Rating

An IP Rating or Ingress Protection rating classifies and rates the degrees of protection provided against the intrusion of solid objects, dust, accidental contact, and water in electronic equipment or electrical enclosures. It uses two numbers to indicate the level of protection for dust (first number) and water (second number) on a scale of 0-6.
